Oilgen today submitted the final report of a major reservoir simulation project started in July.
This mission consisted in proposing the Field Development Plan of an onshore-based half-giant oilfield, for submission to government approval by our client.
For this study, we worked in close relationship with our client’s geological team to build a comprehensive, full-field, reservoir model using CMG/IMEX software. We tested various development concepts, using a mix of proprietary waterflood analytical design equations and model simulations. The selected development option was then implemented into a life-of-field simulation.
The recommended development plan is a high pressure water injection scheme with more than a hundred wells. Drilling is expected to start immediatly after approval, in 2012.
